Palestinians Mark Nakba Day
Palestinians are on Tuesday marking the Nakba Day (Catastrophe) when the Israeli extorter occupied Palestine and expelled its people from their land in May 15 1948. Thousands of Palestinians took to streets in West Bank and Gaza to mark the anniversary, as they were hailing the end of hunger strike by Palestinian prisoners. A general strike was being observed by merchants across the West Bank and Gaza, as well as in the main Arab towns and cities inside the occupied territories, officials said. Loud sirens blared across the West Bank city of Ramallah at midday with people observing a minute's silence ahead of a huge rally in the Clock Square.
